# Delete a message

`DELETE /v1/inboxes/{inbox_id}/messages/{message_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.deadsimple.email`
- URL: `https://api.deadsimple.email/v1/inboxes/{inbox_id}/messages/{message_id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Removes the message from every read at once: lists, search, threads, attachments, the SSE stream, and the IMAP mailbox copy. The message is purged for good 30 days later and cannot be restored. Sent mail keeps counting toward the monthly quota and the per-inbox daily cap, since those count what was sent. Needs `messages.delete`.
