# Start claiming an agent account with a real email

`POST /v1/auth/claim`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.deadsimple.email`
- URL: `https://api.deadsimple.email/v1/auth/claim`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Sends a verification code to `email`. Authenticated with the agent's own trial API key, so only the holder of that key can begin a claim.

## Response `201`

Verification code sent

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid/disposable email, email already registered, or account already claimed
- `429`: Too many claim attempts for this account
