# Layoff Events

`GET /layoffs/events`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.dataporium.io`
- URL: `https://api.dataporium.io/layoffs/events`
- Auth: API key in query parameter `apikey`

Layoffs by company, place, industry and date, newest first. One event is one layoff with every source that mentions it attached: state WARN notices, SEC Form 8-K Item 2.05 filings and news reports, never counted twice. Each event is confirmed (an official filing exists: a WARN notice or an SEC filing) or reported (news reports only).

The answer is {filters, total, limit, offset, sort, order, as_of, rows, about}. as_of gives the newest event, WARN notice, SEC filing and news date. Before the first load is finished the answer has note: "Data is being prepared" and no rows.
