# Election Night Races

`GET /elections/live/races`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.dataporium.io`
- URL: `https://api.dataporium.io/elections/live/races`
- Auth: API key in query parameter `apikey`

Races that are being counted right now on election night, each with the candidate who is leading and the runner-up, votes and shares, the lead in votes and points, the percent of precincts reported and the time of the last change. Counts are unofficial and still changing. A race is only ever shown as leading, never as won.

All filters are optional. The answer is {updated_at, unofficial, note, total, rows}. Before any state starts counting the rows list is empty.

## Response `200`

Successful response (JSON).

- `401`: No API key in the request.
- `403`: The API key is not valid or has expired.
