# Delete annotations

`POST /api/v2/llm-obs/v1/annotation-queues/{queue_id}/annotations/delete`

## Request

- Auth: API key in header `DD-API-KEY` and API key in header `DD-APPLICATION-KEY`

Delete one or more annotations from an annotation queue.

## Path parameters

- `queue_id` string, required

## Request body

- LLMObsDeleteAnnotationsRequest: Request to delete annotations from an annotation queue.
  - `data` LLMObsDeleteAnnotationsDataRequest, required: Data object for deleting annotations.
    - `attributes` LLMObsDeleteAnnotationsDataAttributesRequest, required: Attributes for deleting annotations.
      - `annotation_ids` string[], required: IDs of the annotations to delete. Must contain at least one item.
    - `type` 'annotations', required: Resource type for LLM Observability annotations.

## Response `200`

OK — annotations deleted. Errors for annotations that could not be deleted are listed in `errors`.

- LLMObsDeleteAnnotationsResponse: Response for a batch annotation deletion. Partial errors are listed in the response if any annotations could not be deleted.
  - `data` LLMObsDeleteAnnotationsDataResponse, required: Data object for the annotation deletion response.
    - `attributes` LLMObsDeleteAnnotationsDataAttributesResponse, required: Attributes of the annotation deletion response.
      - `annotation_ids` string[], required: IDs of the successfully deleted annotations.
      - `errors` LLMObsDeleteAnnotationError[], required: Errors for annotations that could not be deleted.
        - `annotation_id` string, required: ID of the annotation that could not be deleted.
        - `error` string, required: Error message.
    - `id` string, required: The annotation queue ID.
    - `type` 'annotations', required: Resource type for LLM Observability annotations.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: Not Found — the queue does not exist.
- `429`: Too many requests
