# Delete experiment protocol

`DELETE /api/v2/experiments/protocols/{protocol_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.datadoghq.com`

  - API key in header `DD-API-KEY` and API key in header `DD-APPLICATION-KEY`
  - OAuth 2

    - Token URL: `/oauth2/v1/token` scopes: `product_analytics_experiments_write`

Delete a protocol with no linked experiments. Draft, published, and archived protocols can be deleted. Returns 204 with no response body.

## Path parameters

- `protocol_id` string, uuid, required: The UUID of the protocol.

## Query parameters

- `expected_updated_at` string

## Response `204`

No Content

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request or protocol settings.
- `401`: Missing or invalid authentication.
- `403`: The caller lacks the product_analytics_experiments_write permission.
- `404`: No protocol with this ID exists in the organization.
- `409`: The protocol has linked experiments or expected_updated_at is stale.
- `429`: Too many requests
- `500`: Internal Server Error
