# Trigger a Bits AI investigation

`POST /api/v2/bits-ai/investigations`

## Request

  - API key in header `DD-API-KEY` and API key in header `DD-APPLICATION-KEY`
  - OAuth 2

Trigger a new Bits AI investigation based on a monitor alert.

## Request body

- TriggerInvestigationRequest: Request to trigger a new investigation.
  - `data` TriggerInvestigationRequestData, required: Data for the trigger investigation request.
    - `attributes` TriggerInvestigationRequestDataAttributes, required: Attributes for the trigger investigation request.
      - `trigger` TriggerAttributes, required: The trigger definition for starting an investigation.
        - `monitor_alert_trigger` MonitorAlertTriggerAttributes, required: Attributes for a monitor alert trigger.
          - `event_id` string, required: The event ID associated with the monitor alert.
          - `event_ts` integer, required: The timestamp of the event in Unix milliseconds.
          - `monitor_id` integer, required: The monitor ID that triggered the alert.
        - `type` 'monitor_alert_trigger', required: The type of trigger for the investigation.
    - `type` 'trigger_investigation_request', required: The resource type for trigger investigation requests.

      - `investigation_id` string, required: The ID of the investigation that was created.
    - `id` string, required: Unique identifier for the trigger response.
    - `type` 'trigger_investigation_response', required: The resource type for trigger investigation responses.
