# Validate API key

`GET /api/v1/validate`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.datadoghq.com`
- URL: `https://api.datadoghq.com/api/v1/validate`
- Auth: API key in header `DD-API-KEY`

Check if the API key (not the APP key) is valid. If invalid, a 403 is returned.

## Response `200`

OK

- AuthenticationValidationResponse: Represent validation endpoint responses.
  - `valid` boolean: Return `true` if the authentication response is valid.

## Other responses

- `403`: Authentication error
- `429`: Too many requests
