# Create an SLO correction

`POST /api/v1/slo/correction`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.datadoghq.com`
- URL: `https://api.datadoghq.com/api/v1/slo/correction`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `DD-API-KEY` and API key in header `DD-APPLICATION-KEY`
  - OAuth 2
    - Authorization code: `/oauth2/v1/authorize`
    - Token URL: `/oauth2/v1/token` scopes: `slos_corrections`

Create an SLO correction. Use `slo_id` to apply the correction to a single SLO, or `slo_query` to apply the
correction to SLOs that match a query. Exactly one of `slo_id` or `slo_query` is required.

## Request body

- SLOCorrectionCreateRequest: An object that defines a correction to be applied to one or more SLOs.
  - `data` SLOCorrectionCreateData: The data object associated with the SLO correction to be created.
    - `attributes` SLOCorrectionCreateRequestAttributes: The attribute object associated with the SLO correction to be created. Exactly one of `slo_id` or `slo_query` must be provided.
      - `category` 'Scheduled Maintenance' | 'Outside Business Hours' | 'Deployment' | 'Other', required: Category the SLO correction belongs to.
      - `description` string: Description of the correction being made.
      - `duration` integer: Length of time (in seconds) for a specified `rrule` recurring SLO correction.
      - `end` integer: Ending time of the correction in epoch seconds.
      - `rrule` string: The recurrence rules as defined in the iCalendar RFC 5545. The supported rules for SLO corrections are `FREQ`, `INTERVAL`, `COUNT`, `UNTIL` and `BYDAY`.
      - `slo_id` string: ID of the single SLO that this correction applies to.
      - `slo_query` string: Query that matches the SLOs this correction applies to. The query uses the [Events search syntax](https://docs.datadoghq.com/events/explorer/searching/) and can filter SLOs by SLO tags.
      - `start` integer, required: Starting time of the correction in epoch seconds.
      - `timezone` string: The timezone to display in the UI for the correction times (defaults to "UTC").
    - `type` 'correction', required: SLO correction resource type.

## Response `200`

    - `attributes` SLOCorrectionResponseAttributes: The attribute object associated with the SLO correction.
      - `category` 'Scheduled Maintenance' | 'Outside Business Hours' | 'Deployment' | 'Other': Category the SLO correction belongs to.
      - `created_at` integer, nullable: The epoch timestamp of when the correction was created at.
      - `creator` Creator: Object describing the creator of the shared element.
        - `email` string: Email of the creator.
        - `handle` string: Handle of the creator.
        - `name` string, nullable: Name of the creator.
      - `description` string: Description of the correction being made.
      - `duration` integer, nullable: Length of time (in seconds) for a specified `rrule` recurring SLO correction.
      - `end` integer, nullable: Ending time of the correction in epoch seconds.
      - `modified_at` integer, nullable: The epoch timestamp of when the correction was modified at.
      - `modifier` SLOCorrectionResponseAttributesModifier, nullable: Modifier of the object.
        - `email` string: Email of the Modifier.
        - `handle` string: Handle of the Modifier.
        - `name` string: Name of the Modifier.
      - `rrule` string, nullable: The recurrence rules as defined in the iCalendar RFC 5545. The supported rules for SLO corrections are `FREQ`, `INTERVAL`, `COUNT`, `UNTIL` and `BYDAY`.
