# Upload IdP metadata

`POST /api/v1/org/{public_id}/idp_metadata`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.datadoghq.com`
- URL: `https://api.datadoghq.com/api/v1/org/{public_id}/idp_metadata`
- Auth: API key in header `DD-API-KEY` and API key in header `DD-APPLICATION-KEY`

There are a couple of options for updating the Identity Provider (IdP)
metadata from your SAML IdP.

* **Multipart Form-Data**: Post the IdP metadata file using a form post.

* **XML Body:** Post the IdP metadata file as the body of the request.

## Path parameters

- `public_id` string, required

## Request body `multipart/form-data`

- IdpFormData: Object describing the IdP configuration.
  - `idp_file` string, binary, required: The path to the XML metadata file you wish to upload.

## Response `200`

OK

- IdpResponse: The IdP response object.
  - `message` string, required: Identity provider response.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request
- `403`: Forbidden
- `415`: Unsupported Media Type
- `429`: Too many requests
