# Spin-off Child Organization

`POST /api/v1/org/{public_id}/downgrade`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.datadoghq.com`
- URL: `https://api.datadoghq.com/api/v1/org/{public_id}/downgrade`
- Auth: API key in header `DD-API-KEY` and API key in header `DD-APPLICATION-KEY`

Only available for MSP customers. Removes a child organization from the hierarchy of the master organization and places the child organization on a 30-day trial.

## Path parameters

- `public_id` string, required

## Response `200`

OK

- OrgDowngradedResponse: Status of downgrade
  - `message` string: Information pertaining to the downgraded child organization.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request
- `403`: Forbidden
- `429`: Too many requests
