# Submit a Service Check

`POST /api/v1/check_run`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.datadoghq.com`
- URL: `https://api.datadoghq.com/api/v1/check_run`
- Auth: API key in header `DD-API-KEY`

Submit a list of Service Checks.

**Notes**:
- A valid API key is required.
- Service checks can be submitted up to 10 minutes in the past.

## Request body

- ServiceCheck[]: The service checks.
  - `check` string, required: The check.
  - `host_name` string, required: The host name correlated with the check.
  - `message` string: Message containing check status.
  - `status` 0 | 1 | 2 | 3, required: The status of a service check. Set to `0` for OK, `1` for warning, `2` for critical, and `3` for unknown.
  - `tags` string[], required: Tags related to a check.
  - `timestamp` integer: Time of check.

## Response `202`

Payload accepted

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request
- `403`: Authentication Error
- `408`: Request timeout
- `413`: Payload too large
- `429`: Too many requests
