# Where this account’s files are kept

`GET /api/v1/storage`

## Request

- Base URL: `http://localhost:5180`
- URL: `http://localhost:5180/api/v1/storage`
- Auth: API key in cookie `better-auth.session_token`

Where this account’s files sit: in the European Union, whichever country a property is in, because that is the store the document search can read. `held` counts the files in each region.

Where the files are and whether that can still change.

    - `region` 'eu', required: Where the account’s files are kept. Every file is kept in the European Union, whichever country its property is in.
    - `country` string, nullable, required: The country the account was opened from, resolved at the edge at sign-up. It does not decide where files are kept.
    - `files` integer, required: Files the account holds, in every region.
    - `held` object[], required: How many files sit in each region. A file stays in the region it was stored in.

    - `recorded` boolean, required: Whether a region is written against the account.
    - `changeable` boolean, required: Whether PUT /storage will be accepted. Always true.
