# Give a signer longer.

`POST /api/v1/signatures/{id}/extend`

## Request

- Base URL: `http://localhost:5180`
- URL: `http://localhost:5180/api/v1/signatures/{id}/extend`
- Auth: API key in cookie `better-auth.session_token`

Measured from today, not from the old deadline, so extending a link that has run out revives it. Send `expiresOn` to name the last day instead: the call can then be repeated after a lost answer without adding more time.

- `id` string, required

## Request body

- object
  - `days` integer: Days from today. Sent twice, it is measured twice, so a client that may repeat the call sends `expiresOn` instead.
  - `expiresOn` string: The last day the link works, `YYYY-MM-DD`, between tomorrow and 90 days from today. The same date sent twice sets one deadline. Wins over `days` when both are sent.

The new deadline.

## Other responses

- `400`: Neither a number of days nor a date, or a date outside what a link may be worth.
- `404`: That request is not open: it is signed, declined or closed.
