# Read a lease

`POST /api/v1/reading/lease`

## Request

- Base URL: `http://localhost:5180`
- URL: `http://localhost:5180/api/v1/reading/lease`
- Auth: API key in cookie `better-auth.session_token`

Takes the pages of a lease, as pictures, and answers with its terms, ready to be put on the lease form: where the property is, what the tenancy is, what is owed, how the rent rises, and everyone it names.

Nothing is guessed: a field the lease does not state comes back absent, and every field that does carries the words it was read from. The rent and the charges are read as the separate figures they are, and an open-ended lease comes back with no end date rather than one inferred from its notice period.

## Response `200`

The progress lines, then the envelope.

## Other responses

- `400`: Not a kind of file a page arrives as, over the ceiling, or sent with no length.
- `401`: No session. Sign in first.
- `429`: Over the reading budget.
