# Read a title deed

`POST /api/v1/reading/deed`

## Request

Takes the pages of a title deed, as pictures, and answers with everything they say about the buildings it conveys and the lots in them, ready to be put on a form.

A deed usually conveys one address and does not always: a portfolio sale, a development or an estate conveys several, and each is an entry in `properties` with its own lots. Nothing is guessed: a field the deed does not state comes back absent, and every field that does carries the words it was read from, so the owner can check it.

Where the deed names a building and a country but no street, the address is looked up and the fields it fills carry that as their evidence.

Add `?scope=address` for the narrow reading: where the property is and nothing else, which comes back faster.

## Other responses

- `400`: Not a kind of file a page arrives as, over the ceiling, or sent with no length.
- `401`: No session. Sign in first.
- `429`: Over the reading budget.
