# A filed message as its sender laid it out

`GET /api/v1/mail/messages/{id}/body`

## Request

The HTML of a message that arrived in a connected mailbox, read from the team's own mail folder. Scripts, frames, forms and event handlers are taken out and inline images are embedded; images from elsewhere are left as they are and flagged, so a screen can hold them back until a person asks.

The message, ready for a sandboxed frame.

    - `remoteImages` boolean, required: Whether it loads images from elsewhere, which tell the sender it was opened. Shown only when a person asks.
    - `withoutQuoted` string: The same letter without the earlier messages it quotes, which the conversation already shows. Absent where it quotes none.
  - `meta` object, required
    - `requestId` string, required: Echoed in the x-request-id header. Quote it in a bug report.

## Other responses

- `404`: No such message on this team, or it came without HTML: its text is on the message itself.
