# Abandon a large file’s upload

`DELETE /api/v1/documents/{id}/content`

## Request

- Base URL: `http://localhost:5180`
- URL: `http://localhost:5180/api/v1/documents/{id}/content`
- Auth: API key in cookie `better-auth.session_token`

Aborts the open multipart upload and marks the row failed, so the parts already sent stop holding space. The document itself stays; starting again reopens from nothing.

Nothing is held for this document any more.

## Other responses

- `401`: No session. Sign in first.
- `404`: No document with that id belongs to you.
- `409`: No multipart upload is open for this document.
- `429`: Over the file budget.
