# Delete a bank account and everything that belongs to it

`DELETE /api/v1/banking/accounts/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `http://localhost:5180`
- URL: `http://localhost:5180/api/v1/banking/accounts/{id}`
- Auth: API key in cookie `better-auth.session_token`

Removes the account, its feed, every movement on it and every statement import that brought one in. Where a bank was reading it, it is let go at the service first, which is what stops it being billed there. A payment that named the account is kept: the money did arrive, so it keeps its amount, its date and its allocations and loses only the account it landed on. This cannot be undone, and reconciliation over the removed movements goes with them. To keep the history and only stop the feed, set the feed to `closed` instead. Owners only.
