# List voting records

`GET /v1/votes`

## Request

Authoritative roll-call/voting records sourced directly from official chamber publications (see 'Data sources' below). 'How did Congress vote on [bill]?' is usually better answered via list_bill_votes(bill_id)/list_actor_votes(actor_id) or get_bill_overview(bill_id), which scope votes to one bill/actor; use this top-level list only for a raw cross-country feed.

Paginated across countries. `country_code` is a comma-separated list (e.g. `BR,CO`); each must be within your API key's scope. Omitting it returns all countries your key can access.

Use `since`/`until` (YYYY-MM-DD) for 'votes this week' type questions — they filter on `recorded_at` (when the vote row was captured; a close proxy for the actual vote date), not `vote_date` (only ~20% populated). Optionally narrow to one commission with `commission_id` — for 'what did commission X vote on this week' — but note most votes have no bill link at all (see `commission_id`'s own description), so a commission's real decisions are usually better covered by list_bill_updates_feed(commission_id=...).

**Data sources:** official roll-call and voting records published by the chambers (Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Panama, Ecuador). Each vote links back to the bill and the legislative update it was cast on. `external_link` (when present) is that update's own source link, not a document of the vote itself — null when the vote has no linked update (~80% of rows, see `project_information` instead) or the update has no captured link.

## Query parameters

- `limit` integer
- `cursor` string, nullable
- `since` string, date, nullable: Only votes recorded on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD). Filters on recorded_at, not vote_date (see Vote schema notes).
- `until` string, date, nullable: Only votes recorded on or before this date (YYYY-MM-DD). Filters on recorded_at, not vote_date.
- `commission_id` integer, nullable: Filter to votes cast on a bill that has ever passed through this commission (use list_commissions(country_code=...) to discover IDs). Excludes votes with no linked bill (~79.5% of rows, see Vote schema notes) — those can't be attributed to a commission.
- `country_code` string, nullable: Comma-separated country codes, e.g. BR,CO,CL.
- `country_id` string, nullable: Deprecated alias: comma-separated numeric ids, e.g. 8,2,6.
