# Choose how far calls from Dagu Cloud may go on this server

`PUT /license/remote-access`

## Request

- Base URL: `http://localhost/api/v1`
- URL: `http://localhost/api/v1/license/remote-access`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP basic
  - none

Sets the highest role calls from Dagu Cloud get on this server, whether they may decide steps waiting for a person, or both. Changes apply at once; off closes the connection and ends the calls in flight. Admin only.

  - `level` 'off' | 'viewer' | 'operator' | 'developer': The highest role calls from Dagu Cloud get on this server: off refuses them, viewer reads DAGs, runs, and logs, operator also starts, enqueues, retries, and stops runs of existing DAGs, and developer also changes DAG definitions and runs inline specs
  - `approvals` boolean: Whether calls from Dagu Cloud may approve, reject, or push back steps waiting for a person

  - `error` string: Why the last connection failed or Dagu Cloud refused it, such as a workspace without a plan or a trial

## Other responses

- `400`: Unknown level, nothing to change, or license management is not available
- `403`: Insufficient permissions
- `409`: cloud.remote_access or cloud.remote_approvals in the configuration fixes the setting
- `default`: Unexpected error
