# Get transcription status

`GET /transcriptions/{transcriptionId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.cut.pro/api/v1`
- URL: `https://api.cut.pro/api/v1/transcriptions/{transcriptionId}`
- Auth: API key in header `X-Api-Key`

Returns the current state of a transcription job. Poll every **5–10 seconds** while `status` is `processing`.

Once `status` is `ready`, fetch the text with `GET /transcriptions/{transcriptionId}/transcript` (JSON cues) or `GET /transcriptions/{transcriptionId}/download` (SRT, VTT or plain text).

  - `id` string, required: Unique transcription job ID
  - `media_id` string, required: The uploaded media this job transcribed. Reuse it to re-run the same file.
  - `title` string, required: Job title, derived from the uploaded file name
  - `duration_seconds` number, required: Measured duration of the audio, in seconds. This is what was billed.
  - `status` 'processing' | 'ready' | 'failed' | 'no_speech', required
  - `language` string, nullable, required: Detected (or pinned) spoken language as a BCP-47-ish code, e.g. `pt`
  - `speaker_labels` boolean, required: `true` if this job was billed with speaker identification
  - `speaker_count` number, nullable, required: Distinct speakers found. Only populated when `speaker_labels` is `true`.
  - `credits_charged` number, required: Credits actually debited for this job. `0` when nothing was charged, including while the workspace has unlimited usage
  - `media_type` 'image' | 'video' | 'audio' | 'font', required
  - `created_at` string, required: ISO 8601 timestamp of when the job was created
  - `completed_at` string, nullable, required: ISO 8601 timestamp of when the job reached a terminal status
