# Retry a failed submission

`POST /clips/{videoId}/submissions/{submissionId}/retry`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.cut.pro/api/v1`
- URL: `https://api.cut.pro/api/v1/clips/{videoId}/submissions/{submissionId}/retry`
- Auth: API key in header `X-Api-Key`

Runs a `failed` submission again with the exact settings it was created with (strategy, timeframe, template, translation) and returns the NEW submission, charged like `POST /clips`. The failed one stays in the history. Retrying a submission that did not fail answers `409 SUBMISSION_NOT_FAILED`.

Response for status 201

  - `id` string, required: ID of the created submission. Poll it for progress
  - `video_id` string, required: ID of the source video
  - `status` 'queued', required
  - `credits_charged` number, required: Credits actually deducted from your balance. `0` when the clip was free, including while this workspace has unlimited usage
