# The application-wide default origin

`GET /applications/{id}/power:default`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.customdomain.ai/v1`
- URL: `https://api.customdomain.ai/v1/applications/{id}/power:default`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP bearer

The origin the edge proxies to for any of this application's connections that have no origin of their own. Resolution order is: the connection's own origin, then this default, then none (the edge answers 421).

This exists because a per-connection origin is the wrong grain for the common case: one application serving thousands of customer domains, all proxying to the same place and dispatching on `X-Forwarded-Host`.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Response `200`

The current default

- ApplicationDefaultOrigin
  - `application_id` string
  - `default_origin` string: Absent when no default is set.
  - `configured` boolean: Whether a default is set. Distinguishes "no default" from an empty value.

## Other responses

- `401`: Error envelope: {code, title, details}.
- `402`: Error envelope: {code, title, details}.
- `404`: Error envelope: {code, title, details}.
- `503`: Error envelope: {code, title, details}.
