# Send one test message through an application's mail server

`POST /applications/{id}/email-sender:test`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.customdomain.ai/v1`
- URL: `https://api.customdomain.ai/v1/applications/{id}/email-sender:test`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP bearer

Sends a short test message to `to` through the saved SMTP server (`mode` must be `smtp`). On success `verified_at` is recorded; on failure `last_error` is recorded (with no secret in it) and the response is 502. Limited to 5 per hour per application. Requires `app:write`.
