# Retrieve a post

`GET /v1/{account_id}/posts/{post_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.curviate.com`
- URL: `https://api.curviate.com/v1/{account_id}/posts/{post_id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Returns the full post object including text, nullable counters, author, attachments, and poll.

## Path parameters

- `account_id` string, required
- `post_id` string, required

## Response `200`

The requested post, with full text, nullable counters, author, attachments, and poll.

- object: A LinkedIn post (content pass-through, text and attachments are never stored).
  - `object` 'post': Response type discriminator.
  - `id` string: The post's own identifier as returned on this surface, use this value as the post_id path param on sub-resource endpoints. Its exact value can differ between two responses about the same post, so compare `urn` rather than `id` when you need to tell whether two responses describe one post.
  - `urn` string, nullable: Stable identifier for the post itself, in `urn:li:activity:ID` or `urn:li:ugcPost:ID` form. Unlike `id`, this value is the same however you reached the post, so compare it to decide whether two responses describe the same post; a comment's `parent_post.urn` joins to it directly. For a repost it names the post being reshared, so reshares of one post share a `urn` while each keeps its own `created_at`. It is also accepted as the post_id path param on every operation that takes one, reads and writes alike, exactly like `id` is. null when the post carries no resolvable identity, and two nulls are not a match: treat null as unknown, never as equal.
  - `share_url` string, nullable: Shareable URL for the post.
  - `title` string, nullable: Post title, or null if not set.
  - `text` string, nullable: Full post text (content pass-through, never stored).
  - `created_at` string, nullable: ISO-8601 UTC datetime this post was published, or null when it cannot be told reliably. Derived from the post's own activity identity, so it does not change with the route you used to reach it. null when the post carries no activity identity of its own (often a video or image post), never a guess. For a repost this is when the repost was made, not when the post it reshares was.
  - `comment_count` number, nullable: Total comment count, or null when the platform hides it.
  - `reactions` object[]: Per-reaction-type count buckets.
    - `type` 'like' | 'celebrate' | 'support' | 'love' | 'insightful' | 'funny': Reaction type (unified lowercase enum).
    - `count` number: Count of this reaction type on the post.
  - `reaction_count` number, nullable: Total reaction count, the sum of reactions[].count, or null when the platform hides it.
  - `repost_count` number, nullable: Total repost count, or null when the platform hides it.
  - `impressions_count` number, nullable: Total impression count, or null if not available.
  - `user_reacted` 'like' | 'celebrate' | 'support' | 'love' | 'insightful' | 'funny' | 'null', nullable: The authenticated account's own reaction (unified lowercase enum), or null if not reacted.
  - `author` object: Author of the post or comment. Two shapes reach this field, so read the display name as `name` when it is present and `display_name` otherwise.
    - `id` string: LinkedIn profile identifier.
    - `name` string: Author's display name. Absent on the shape that carries `display_name` instead.
    - `display_name` string: Author's display name. Absent on the shape that carries `name` instead.
    - `object` string: Author entity discriminator, on the shape that carries one.
    - `type` string: Author entity type (for example individual or organization), on the shape that carries one.
    - `profile_picture_url` string, nullable: Author's profile picture URL, or null if not set.
  - `written_by` object, nullable: The member who wrote the post (may differ from author for organization posts), or null.
  - `permissions` object, nullable: Interaction permissions for the authenticated account, or null.
    - `can_react` boolean: true if the account can react to this post.
    - `can_share` boolean: true if the account can share this post.
    - `can_post_comments` boolean: true if the account can comment on this post.
  - `is_repost` boolean: true if this post is a repost of another post.
  - `repost_id` string, nullable: id of the original post if is_repost is true, else null.
  - `reposted_by` object, nullable: Profile of the account that reposted, or null.
  - `repost_content` object, nullable: Embedded original post content for reposts, or null.
  - `attachments` object[]: Media attachments on the post.
  - `poll` object, nullable: Poll data if the post contains a poll, or null.
  - `specifics` object, nullable: Job-posting or article context on the post, present only when applicable.
  - `observed_at` string, required: ISO-8601 timestamp for when this data was observed on LinkedIn. On a live fetch this is the time of the fetch; on a stored answer it is when the data was actually seen, not when you asked for it.
  - `source` 'store' | 'live', required: Whether this answer came from Curviate's stored copy or from a fresh LinkedIn fetch. A stored answer costs the connected account nothing and is never surfaced to the person being read. It also carries less: fields Curviate does not retain (message bodies, notes, attachments, third-party contact details) are only ever present on a live fetch. Pass mode=live when you need them.
  - `withdrawn` boolean, required: Whether LinkedIn has told us this resource no longer exists, such as a removed profile. When true, the answer above is the copy Curviate still holds and must not be treated as current. Always present; false is the normal case.
  - `withdrawn_at` string: ISO-8601 timestamp for when a fetch MOST RECENTLY found this resource gone on LinkedIn. Every later fetch that finds it gone again moves it. Present only when withdrawn is true.
  - `safety_warning` SafetyWarning: Present on a successful response when this account crossed an account-safety ceiling while the affected budget row is on the default warn posture. The action still happened. Field-identical to the BUDGET_EXHAUSTED error body except that blocked is false and hint.message describes the outcome, so one branch handles both postures and switching the account to enforce is a configuration change rather than a client rewrite.
    - `row` string, nullable, required: The budget row that breached, for example profile_views or pending_invites. Null when the breach is not about a row: an activity_window warning on an action that spends no budget of its own (editing a message, dismissing a notification, a Recruiter or Sales Navigator admin action) is still governed by the hours the account works in. Read hint.parameter for what to change; whenever this is null it names posture, because the activity window edges are set per action type and this action has none, so the levers that reach it are the account timezone and posture.
    - `reset_at` string, nullable, required: The instant the refusal lifts: the window roll on a ceiling refusal, the next window open on an activity-window one. Null in the two cases no clock frees, the pending_invites gauge and InMail credits (row inmail).
    - `hint` object, required
      - `parameter` string, required: The settable parameter on PATCH /v1/{account_id}/safety-policy.
      - `message` string, required: What the condition is and what changing that parameter would do. This is the one field whose text differs from the BUDGET_EXHAUSTED refusal: here it says the action went through, and on a ceiling breach how far past the ceiling this row now stands, rather than telling you to set posture to warn when it already is. Branch on parameter, reason and blocked, never on this text.
    - `reason` 'ceiling' | 'activity_window', required: Which rule was crossed. ceiling means the row's configured limit is spent; activity_window means the account is outside the hours it works in, which is a different fact with a different remedy. hint.parameter names the right setting for each.
    - `blocked` boolean, required: Always false here. True on the BUDGET_EXHAUSTED refusal carrying the same payload.

## Other responses

- `400`: Missing or invalid path parameter.
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `404`: The account_id does not belong to this tenant (ACCOUNT_NOT_FOUND), or the post was not found (RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND). An id whose connection was replaced or removed also stops resolving here, and it is already absent from the list, so re-read `GET /v1/accounts` for the current id.
- `429`: Rate limited, slow down and retry after the hinted delay.
- `500`: Internal error.
- `502`: A temporary error occurred. Please try again.
- `503`: Service unavailable.
- `504`: Gateway timeout.
