# Stream compose progress (SSE)

`GET /v1/projects/{id}/compose/jobs/{composeJobId}/stream`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.cueframe.ai`

- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - OAuth 2 (authorization code, authorization URL `https://api.cueframe.ai/api/auth/mcp/authorize`, token URL `https://api.cueframe.ai/api/auth/mcp/token`, scopes: `projects:read`)
  - API key in header `PAYMENT-SIGNATURE`

Server-Sent Events stream emitting typed `compose_event` frames (per `2026-05-23-compose-api-contract.md` § SSE event types — job_started, candidate_phase_started, candidate_phase_evaluated, candidate_completed, critique_retry_started, winner_selected, job_completed, job_failed). The stream closes once the compose job reaches a terminal status. Required scope: projects:read

## Response `200`

SSE stream (text/event-stream).

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request.
- `401`: Unauthorized.
- `402`: Payment required. Returned when the caller presents no API key on a priced operation: the body AND the `Payment-Required` header carry the x402 v2 challenge (accepted scheme, network, USDC asset, amount, payTo). Sign the EIP-3009 authorization and retry with a `PAYMENT-SIGNATURE` header. A KEYED caller sees this status instead when their plan lacks or has exhausted the feature (`billing_required`).
- `403`: Forbidden — scope insufficient.
- `404`: Compose job not found.
- `429`: Rate limited.
- `500`: Internal error.
