# Latest prices for selected items (Basic)

`POST /v1/prices/latest`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.cspriceapi.com`
- URL: `https://api.cspriceapi.com/v1/prices/latest`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key`

Same latest-price data as `GET /v1/prices/latest`, filtered to up to
**100** requested `market_hash_name` values.

Most prices update about every 5 minutes, depending on the marketplace.
Optional `markets` limits which sources are loaded. Missing items appear
in `errors` (`not_found`); if none match, the API returns `404`.

**CSFloat:** `price` and `avg_*` are in **US cents** (as CSFloat reports them,
e.g. 2466 = $24.66); every other marketplace uses whole currency units.

## Request body

- object
  - `items` string[], required: market_hash_name values to look up.
  - `markets` string[]: Optional marketplace filter (same slugs as GET).

## Response `200`

Latest prices for the requested items (partial success possible).

- LatestPricesResponse: Item-centric latest listing snapshot.
  - `items` object, required: Map of market_hash_name → nested marketplace prices.
  - `markets` string[], required: Marketplaces included in this response (after filtering).
  - `requestor` string, email
  - `plan` string
  - `timestamp` string, date-time, required: ISO-8601 UTC timestamp (millisecond precision).
  - `errors` LatestItemError[]: Present on POST when some requested items were missing.
    - `market_hash_name` string, required
    - `code` 'not_found', required

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid or missing parameter.
- `401`: Missing, invalid, disabled or expired API key.
- `403`: The API key is valid but is not allowed to call this endpoint (endpoint ACL).
- `404`: None of the requested items were found.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded (10 requests per second per key). Retry after 1 second.
- `500`: Internal server error – temporary upstream failure, etc.
