# Send sample event data to a Destination

`POST /system/outputs/{id}/test`

Send sample event data to the specified Destination to validate the configuration or test connectivity.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Request body

- OutputTestRequest — Request body for testing a Destination by sending sample events.
  - `events` object[], required — Array of event objects to send to the Destination for testing.

## Response `200`

Destination test result.

- CountedOutputTestResponse
  - `count` integer, required — number of items present in the items array
  - `items` OutputTestResponse[], required — List of items in this response.
    - `details` object — Additional details about the Destination test, such as per-event results and transport-level information.
    - `error` string — Error message that describes a failed Destination test.
    - `outputId` string, required — The <code>id</code> of the Destination that was tested.
    - `success` boolean, required — If <code>true</code>, the Destination test succeeded. Otherwise, <code>false</code>.
    - `successDetail` string — Human-readable description for a successful Destination test result.

## Other responses

- `400` — Failed validation or malformed input — missing or invalid events.
- `401` — Authentication failed (missing or invalid credentials or Bearer token).
- `500` — Unexpected server error.
