# Delete a zone record

`DELETE /zones/{id}/records/{record_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.crevio.co/v1`
- URL: `https://api.crevio.co/v1/zones/{id}/records/{record_id}`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Deletes a DNS record from a Crevio-managed zone. Removing records that Crevio relies on — the storefront, email authentication — will break the features that depend on them.

## Response `200`

The DNS record was deleted.

## Other responses

- `401`: Authentication required
- `404`: Resource not found
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded — 600 requests per minute per credential. Retry after the number of seconds in `Retry-After`.
