# Deep research

`POST /web/research`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.crevio.co/v1`
- URL: `https://api.crevio.co/v1/web/research`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Researches a question across multiple web sources and returns a cited synthesis. `quick` runs synchronously (200); `thorough` and `exhaustive` return a queued job (202) to poll at `GET /v1/jobs/{id}`. Charges credits on completion.

  - `query` string, required: The research question.
  - `depth` 'quick' | 'thorough' | 'exhaustive': Breadth/latency tier (default quick).

## Other responses

- `202`: Research job queued (thorough/exhaustive depth)
- `400`: Bad request
- `401`: Authentication required
- `402`: Insufficient credits
- `422`: Validation error
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded — 600 requests per minute per credential. Retry after the number of seconds in `Retry-After`.
- `500`: Internal server error
