# Change the line's name, voice, greeting, instructions, or when it answers.

`PATCH /settings`

## Request body

  - `name` string: What the line calls itself.
  - `voice` string: A voice id.
  - `greeting` string: First line on inbound calls.
  - `instructions` string: What the line should always know.
  - `answer_rings` integer

## Response `200`

- `400`: Something in the request is missing or malformed; the message says which field.
- `401`: The key is missing, wrong, or revoked. Ask the owner for a new one; do not retry.
- `404`: No such call, email, or contact on this line.
- `429`: Over 240 requests a minute. Wait a little and try again.
