# Call someone on the owner's behalf.

`POST /calls`

## Request

Say what you would tell a person, including what to accept if the first answer is no. Returns straight away with a call id; the call itself takes minutes.

## Request body

- object
  - `to` string, required: Who to call, E.164.
  - `purpose` string, required: The job, in plain English, including fallbacks. Up to 1,200 characters; a longer purpose is refused with an error, never trimmed.
  - `callee_name` string: Who is being called.
  - `desired_resolution` string: What a good ending looks like.
  - `max_minutes` integer: Hard stop for the call. No call runs longer than 10 minutes.

The call was placed.

    - `notes` object: Details the line captured: names, amounts, dates, reference numbers.

## Other responses

- `400`: Something in the request is missing or malformed; the message says which field.
- `401`: The key is missing, wrong, or revoked. Ask the owner for a new one; do not retry.
- `404`: No such call, email, or contact on this line.
- `429`: Over 240 requests a minute. Wait a little and try again.
