# Add a configuration

`POST /api/v1/rootly/configuration`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.getcortexapp.com`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

## Request body

- RootlyConfigurationRequest
  - `alias` string, required
  - `apiKey` string, required
  - `categories` string[]: Categories for this configuration. Defaults to incident management and on-call.
  - `isDefault` boolean, required
  - `webhookSecret` string: Secret that signs Rootly webhook requests

## Response `200`

OK

## Other responses

- `429`: The client has exceeded the rate limit by performing too many requests in a short period. Retry the request after a delay.
