# Save Semrush API key

`POST /api/v1/semrush/connection`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://localhost:3000`
- URL: `https://localhost:3000/api/v1/semrush/connection`
- Auth: `BearerAuth` (a scheme the document does not define)

Saves the user's Semrush API key. The key is stored per-user in Azure Key Vault (cloud) or local .tokens/ directory (dev). Each API call to Semrush consumes units from the user's monthly quota.

## Request body

- SemrushConnectionRequest
  - `api_key` string, required: Your Semrush API key (from Semrush Account → Subscription info → API units tab)

## Response `200`

Credentials saved

- SemrushConnectionStatus
  - `configured` boolean
  - `connector_id` string
  - `api_key_set` boolean
  - `updated_at` number

## Other responses

- `400`: Validation error (missing or empty api_key)
- `401`: Unauthorized
