# Get user by ID

`GET /users/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.copper.com/developer_api/v1`
- URL: `https://api.copper.com/developer_api/v1/users/{id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Retrieve a specific user by their ID. Special ID 'me' can be passed in to obtain the current API user.

## Path parameters

- `id` union, required
  - integer
  - 'me'

## Response `200`

User retrieved successfully

- User
  - `id` integer, required: Unique identifier for the user
  - `name` string, required: Full name of the user
  - `email` string, email, required: Email address of the user
  - `groups` object[]: A list of teams (previously known as 'Groups') that the user belongs to
    - `id` integer, required: Unique identifier for the team
    - `name` string, required: Name of the team

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request - The request was invalid or cannot be served
- `401`: Unauthorized - Authentication credentials were missing or incorrect
- `404`: Not Found - The requested resource was not found
- `429`: Too Many Requests - Rate limit exceeded
- `500`: Internal Server Error - An unexpected error occurred
