# Get Load

`GET /loads/{externalId}`

Retrieve a load by its external identifier.

## Response `200`

The request has succeeded.

- GetBrokerLoadResponse: A load's current state.
  - `externalId` string, required: The broker-assigned external identifier for the load.
  - `syncStatus` 'QUEUED' | 'COMPLETED' | 'FAILED', required: The current sync status of the load. This reflects live state and may differ from the last webhook emission, which captures point-in-time status. | Status | Description | | --------- |-------------| | QUEUED | A submission is in-flight and has not yet resolved. | | COMPLETED | The most recent submission was processed successfully. | | FAILED | The most recent submission was rejected. |
  - `postingStatus` 'AVAILABLE' | 'PENDING' | 'CANCELED' | 'COVERED', nullable, required: The current posting status of the load, or null if not yet determined.
  - `updatedAt` string, date-time, required: ISO 8601 timestamp of the last event that affected this load.
  - `errors` LoadSyncError[], required: Errors from the most recent failed sync attempt. Empty when syncStatus is not FAILED.
    - `errorCode` string, required: Machine-readable error code identifying the failure reason.
    - `errorMessage` string, required: Human-readable description of the error. Display-only; not contractual.
    - `errorCategory` string, required: Broad classification of the error. Known categories: ADDRESS, WEIGHT, RATE, TIMING, EQUIPMENT, COMPLIANCE, PAYLOAD, THROTTLE, OTHER.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request (e.g., externalId exceeds maximum length).
- `404`: Load not found for the given externalId.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded. Retry after the indicated number of seconds.
- `default`: Unexpected error.
