# Trigger Workflow

`POST /v2/workflows/{workflowId}/trigger`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://pub-api.conversion.ai/api`
- URL: `https://pub-api.conversion.ai/api/v2/workflows/{workflowId}/trigger`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - API key in query parameter `api_key`

Trigger an API-triggered workflow for a specific contact.

## Path parameters

- `workflowId` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- object
  - `email` string, email: The contact's email address. At least one of `cnvContactId`, `userId`, or `email` is required.
  - `cnvContactId` string, uuid: The Conversion contact ID. At least one of `cnvContactId`, `userId`, or `email` is required.
  - `userId` string: An external user identifier for the contact. At least one of `cnvContactId`, `userId`, or `email` is required.
  - `data` object: An optional map of custom data to pass to the workflow as trigger data.

## Response `200`

Workflow triggered successfully.

    - `triggered` boolean, required: `true` if the workflow was successfully triggered.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request was malformed or the workflow cannot be triggered.
- `401`: Authentication failed.
- `404`: The workflow or contact was not found.
- `409`: The provided identifiers conflict with an existing contact.
- `500`: An unexpected server error occurred.
