# Add Contact to Audience

`POST /v2/audiences/{audienceId}/contacts`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://pub-api.conversion.ai/api`
- URL: `https://pub-api.conversion.ai/api/v2/audiences/{audienceId}/contacts`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - API key in query parameter `api_key`

Add a contact to a static audience. The contact is identified by `cnvContactId`, `userId`, or `email`.

## Path parameters

- `audienceId` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- object
  - `email` string, email: The contact's email address. At least one of `cnvContactId`, `userId`, or `email` is required.
  - `cnvContactId` string, uuid: The Conversion contact ID. At least one of `cnvContactId`, `userId`, or `email` is required.
  - `userId` string: An external user identifier for the contact. At least one of `cnvContactId`, `userId`, or `email` is required.

## Response `200`

Contact added to the audience successfully.

  - `data` object
    - `added` boolean, required: `true` once the contact is a member of the audience. The operation is idempotent.
    - `cnvContactId` string, uuid, required: The resolved Conversion contact ID.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request was malformed or the audience cannot accept contacts directly.
- `401`: Authentication failed.
- `404`: The audience or contact was not found.
- `409`: The provided identifiers conflict with an existing contact.
- `500`: An unexpected server error occurred.
