# Get API usage

`GET /v2/usage`

See your requests this month, what extra requests cost your teamspace, and the teamspace's requests per day. `member` is the member who owns the API key and has the same numbers as the `RateLimit-*` headers on search and docs responses. `teamspace` covers all members. Calls to this endpoint do not count as requests.

Usage for the current month and the requested days

- UsageResponse
  - `plan` 'free' | 'pro' | 'enterprise' | 'payg', required: Plan of the teamspace the API key belongs to. `payg` (pay-as-you-go) includes no requests and bills every request.
  - `usageResetsAt` string, date-time, required: When the monthly numbers in `member` and `teamspace` start again from zero: the first day of next month, UTC. `teamspace.daily` keeps its history.
  - `member` object, required: The member who owns the API key, this month. Each member has their own included requests. On the Free plan, the member's requests stop with a 429 when `requests` reaches `includedInPlan`. On paid plans and `payg`, they continue and count as `teamspace.extraRequests`.
    - `requests` integer, required: Search and docs requests this member made this month
    - `includedInPlan` integer, required: Requests the plan includes for this member each month. 0 on `payg`.
  - `teamspace` object, required: All members of the teamspace together. To get the teamspace's requests for a period, add up `daily`.
    - `extraRequests` integer, required: Requests this month beyond each member's `includedInPlan`. Always 0 on the Free plan.
    - `extraCostUsd` number, required: Cost of `extraRequests` in US dollars, as it will appear on the invoice. Always 0 on the Free plan.
    - `spendingLimitUsd` number, nullable, required: Monthly limit for `extraCostUsd` in US dollars. When `extraCostUsd` reaches it, search and docs requests that would add to `extraRequests` return 402 until `usageResetsAt`; requests within the member's `includedInPlan` still work. `0` blocks all extra requests. `null` if no limit is set.
    - `daily` object[], required: Requests of all members per UTC day, oldest first, with the cost of that day's extra requests. Every day is present; days without requests are 0.
      - `date` string, date, required
      - `requests` integer, required: All requests on this day (`searchRequests` + `docsRequests`)
      - `searchRequests` integer, required: Library search requests
      - `docsRequests` integer, required: Documentation and context requests
      - `extraCostUsd` number, required: Cost of this day's extra requests in US dollars. The days of the current month add up to `teamspace.extraCostUsd`. Always 0 on the Free plan.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request - Invalid input parameters
- `401`: Unauthorized - Invalid or missing API key
- `429`: Too Many Requests - Rate limit exceeded
- `500`: Internal Server Error
