# Ask a registered website

`GET /v2/ask`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://context7.com/api`
- URL: `https://context7.com/api/v2/ask`
- Auth: none required

Answer a question from the pages of one website registered with Context7 Ask. AI agents find this endpoint in the hidden note, llms.txt section or Link header the site publishes. No API key is needed. Without `query`, the endpoint returns a short description of itself.

## Query parameters

- `siteKey` string, required
- `query` string

## Response `200`

Documentation from the site that answers the question, with a source link for each part. If nothing matches, the text says so.

## Other responses

- `202`: The site is still being read. Try again later.
- `400`: The site key or the question is not valid.
- `404`: No site is published for that key.
- `429`: Too many requests for this site.
- `500`: The question could not be answered.
- `503`: The site's documentation is not available.
