# Derive and store a title from the content

`POST /v1/documents/{uuid}/generate-title`

## Request

**A LOCAL HEURISTIC, not a model call: no provider, no credits.** It takes the first meaningful line of the content, strips a markdown heading marker and truncates at 60 characters. It requires `text:write` because it PERSISTS the derived title, not because it bills.

The derived title.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `404`: Unknown document, or not yours.
- `default`: Any other error. Every failure this API emits uses the same envelope; branch on `error.type`, never on `error.message`, and quote `error.correlation_id` to support.
