# Write a small file

`POST /v1/projects/{project_id}/files/{environment_id}/write`

## Request

Store a small file in one request. Use an upload for large files.

Required permission: `files.manage`.

- `environment_id` string, uuid, required

  - `path` string, required: File path such as invoices/2026/acme.pdf.
  - `content` string, nullable: Text content.
  - `content_base64` string, nullable: Binary content, base64-encoded.
  - `mime_type` string, nullable
  - `metadata` object, nullable
  - `overwrite` boolean

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `403`: The API key lacks the required permission or access to the environment.
- `404`: The resource does not exist in this project.
- `422`: Validation Error
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded.
