# Get audit retention

`GET /v1/projects/{project_id}/audit-logs/retention`

## Request

How long audit events are kept for this project, derived from the active billing tier and any custom plan rules.

Required permission: `audit.view`.

## Path parameters

- `project_id` string, uuid, required

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- PublicAuditRetentionResponse
  - `retention_days` integer, required: Days audit events are kept. -1 means they are kept indefinitely.
  - `billing_tier` string, required: Billing tier of the project, such as `free`, `developer`, `pro` or `enterprise`.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `403`: The API key lacks the required permission or access to the environment.
- `422`: Validation Error
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded.
