# Assign user to pay rule policy

`PUT /company-policies/v1/pay-rule-policies/{payRulePolicyId}/assignments`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.connecteam.com`

  - API key in header `X-API-KEY`
  - OAuth 2
    - Client credentials
    - Token URL: `/oauth/v1/token` scopes: `company_policies.write`

Assign user to specified pay rule policy. If the provided effective date is earlier than the currently assigned policy's effective date, the existing policy assignment will be replaced and removed.

## Path parameters

- `payRulePolicyId` integer, required: The unique identifier of the pay rule policy to assign

## Request body

- PayRuleAssignmentRequest
  - `userId` integer, required: The unique identifier of the user
  - `effectiveDate` string, date, required: The date for the policy to take effect, specified in ISO 8601 format (e.g., 2025-01-25)
