# Update a crypto address book entry

`PATCH /v3/address-book/crypto/{id}`

Changes the attributes of an entry that no screening rests on: its label, its notification channels and its designations. A field left out stays as it is; a field sent as null is cleared. The screened identity (network, address, hosting type, VASP account) never changes: register a new entry instead. A VASP entry cannot gain the WITHDRAWAL designation yet, and an entry in a terminal status (REJECTED or DELETED) cannot be changed.

  - `designations` string[]: Replaces the whole set and must not be null or empty. TOP_UP is not accepted on a UTXO network, and a VASP entry cannot gain WITHDRAWAL or TOP_UP. Omit to leave unchanged.
  - `label` string, nullable: Null clears the label. Omit to leave unchanged.
  - `notifyOptions` UpdateNotifyOptions
    - `email` string, email, nullable: Null clears it. Omit to leave unchanged; an empty string counts as omitted.
    - `url` string, uri, nullable: Null clears it. Omit to leave unchanged.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request body, a designation the entry cannot have, or the address book feature is disabled
- `403`: Not authenticated by an API key, no authenticated merchant in the request context, the entry belongs to another merchant, or an API key without payouts enabled changing a withdrawal destination or designating one
- `404`: No crypto address book entry has this ID
- `409`: The entry is REJECTED or DELETED
