# Update Project

`PUT /v1/projects/{projectId}`

Updates an existing project's name or description.

## Path parameters

- `projectId` string, required

## Request body

- UpdateProject
  - `name` string — New name for the project
  - `description` string — New description for the project

    - `project` Project
      - `id` string — Unique identifier for the project
      - `name` string — Name of the project
      - `description` string, nullable — Optional description of the project
      - `organizationId` string — ID of the organization this project belongs to
      - `created_at` string, date-time — ISO 8601 timestamp of when the project was created
      - `governancePolicy` object, nullable — The governance policy the project is enrolled in, or null if it is not enrolled.
        - `id` string — The unique identifier of the governance policy.
        - `name` string — The name of the governance policy.
