# Trade verdict for a company

`GET /company/{number}/verdict`

## Request

The verdict printed on page one of the Company Report: a grade (low, moderate, high or severe, shown as "Low risk" to "Very high risk"), the answer in a line, the terms that go with it, an illustrative credit limit with its working (the lower of 10% of tangible net worth and 20% of working capital, from the latest plausible balance sheet), the three most serious reasons and four checks to make before signing. The grade is never better than the Health Score's band. No person is named. Partnerships get `available: false` with the reason. Answers are kept for 15 minutes per company. API Starter and above. The verdict applies stated rules to public records (Companies House filings and the London Gazette as CompanyStack holds them). It is not a credit rating, a credit reference or advice, and it does not predict what the company will do: your own credit policy decides.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid company number
- `401`: API key missing, malformed or revoked
- `403`: Your plan does not include this endpoint (plan_upgrade_required)
- `404`: Company not found
- `429`: Per-minute or per-day limit reached (`code: rate_limited`, `window: minute|day`). Wait `Retry-After` seconds; when both windows are full the day is reported. A refused request does not count against either limit. A bulk lookup (`POST /company/bulk`) counts each company number in it as one request, so one that is more than you have left is refused whole, and the body adds `requested` and `fits`.
