# Update User Information

`PATCH /v1/users`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://sandbox.columnapi.com`
- URL: `https://sandbox.columnapi.com/v1/users`
- Auth: HTTP basic

## Request body

- object
  - `user_identifier` string, required: The same unique identifier that was used to create this User via a call to `/v1/users`.
  - `email` string: The user's email address.
  - `date_of_birth` string, date: The user's date of birth in ISO 8601 format: "YYYY-MM-DD".
  - `first_name` string: The user's first name.
  - `last_name` string: The user's last name.
  - `social_security_number` string: The user's Social Security Number. Column stores this (and all) information about users securely (encrypted at rest). Format: "AAA-GG-SSSS".
  - `address` object: The user's address.
    - `street_1` string, required: The first line of the user's address.
    - `street_2` string: The second line of the address.
    - `city` string, required
    - `state` string, required: The state as a two-letter abbreviation, e.g. "CA". Note that null should be passed if this is not known.
    - `zip_code` string, required: The ZIP code.
  - `account` object: The user's bank account information
    - `account_type` 'checking' | 'savings': The bank account type, either "checking" or "savings". Note that the request will fail if an invalid value is passed.
    - `routing_number` string: The routing number for the bank account.
    - `account_number` string: The user's bank account number.
