# List American Viticultural Areas

`GET /avas`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.colacloud.us/api/v1`
- URL: `https://app.colacloud.us/api/v1/avas`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

List all American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) — federally designated wine grape-growing regions.
Optionally filter by state or search by name.

This endpoint is free — it does not consume quota.

## Query parameters

- `state` string
- `q` string

  - `data` AvaSummary[]
    - `ava_id` string: Unique AVA identifier
    - `name` string: Official AVA name
    - `aka` string, nullable: Alternative name, if any
    - `states` string[], nullable: US states the AVA spans
    - `counties` string[], nullable: Counties the AVA spans
    - `established_date` string, date, nullable: Date the AVA was established
    - `removed_date` string, date, nullable: Date the AVA was removed, if applicable
  - `meta` MetaTotal: Response metadata with total count
    - `total` integer: Total number of results

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key or Bearer token
- `429`: Quota or burst limit exceeded
